Thank You Kiwanis Club of Carefree!
The Kiwanis Club of Carefree has been an impactful partner supporting Foothills Caring Corps for years and this partnership has made a huge difference for our local community.
Though traditionally supporting kids as their primary area of support, Kiwanis Club of Carefree has also helped Foothills Caring Corps to cover the uncovered costs for insurance for the fleet of vans that are “on the road” to meet the needs of our neighbors who need us most.
The mission of Foothills Caring Corps is to help seniors and other adults with disabling conditions who reside in the Northeast Valley-Foothills Community to remain living independently.
Foothills Caring Corps is the primary human services provider for the area serving the highest need population our aging population in Carefree, Cave Creek and North Scottsdale. Demographics support this important focus area for the Town of Carefree (Average age 70) the Town of Cave Creek (average age-55) and North Scottsdale (median age of 47.7)
This service area encompasses more than 250 sq. miles which is not served by public transportation and in which private transportation options are difficult to obtain or are prohibitively expensive for our Neighbors.
Foothills Caring Corps Van Program includes nine vans, including six that are wheelchair accessible which are utilized for various group activities as well as mobile meals delivery and non-emergency medical transportation. Additional outings also include cultural events, movies, lunches, and shopping trips, allowing Neighbors to socialize and engage with others in their local community.
These essential programs directly impact our most vulnerable residents, seniors that report often feeling isolated, lonely and experiencing a lack of connection on a fundamental level.
Still many of our independent elders choose to “age in place” in their beloved homes that make up the fabric of our unique interwoven neighborhoods.
Foothills Caring Corps truly serves heart of this community and is grateful for the extraordinary long-standing partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Carefree.
Foothills Caring Corps is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code; (EIN 26-4341807). We are also registered with the State of Arizona as an independent organization with Unconditional Exempt status; our Qualifying Charitable Organization code is 20612.
