Foothills Caring Corps is committed to high standards of excellence in carrying out our mission. One aspect of that is our dedication to lifelong learning. We are excited to share that Foothills Caring Corps’ Executive Director, Robin Cochran, recently completed the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) Master’s program with The American College of Financial Services. Robin shared that she hopes “completion of the the CAP program will help earn the trust and confidence of the community and provide an opportunity to lead by example. The CAP program, a comprehensive examination of the financial strategies for charitable giving, has expanded my knowledge about maximizing the impact of philanthropy and creating a strong vision for the future financial stability of our organization.”
MOBILITY LOAN CLOSET
Do you or a loved one need to borrow home mobility equipment to aid in recovery? Borrowing items from our Mobility Loan Closet is free of charge and open to the entire community! Items that we accept as donations are listed below. If you have items that are not on our list, please consider donating them to one of our community partners: St. Vincent de Paul, Foothills Foodbank & Resource Center, the Arizona Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, or Joni & Friends Wheels for the World (TM). Thank you for helping your Neighbors!
Wheels for the World(TM) provides life-changing mobility and the hope of the Gospel to people impacted by disability worldwide. A person with limited mobility is tragically often excluded from life in their community because they have no way of moving around. But the gift of a wheelchair literally lifts someone from the dirt to a seat of dignity and opportunity.
Paralyzed Veterans of America
The Arizona Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America provides durable medical equipment, at no cost, to Veterans and families of Veterans who are unable to obtain equipment through the VA or their insurance.
As a part of annual December holiday tradition, the Town of Carefree will be hosting nightly Chanukah celebrations and lighting candles on the 6.5-foot-tall Menorah each evening at 5:30 PM MST in the Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion.
All are invited to join us on the first night of Chanukah, November 28, for a very special 5th Anniversary kickoff event highlighting our community and our chosen charity this year: Foothills Caring Corps! After the lighting of the Menorah, please stay and enjoy time with community members, clergy and congregants from Temple Chai, and members of the Jewish Social Group of Cave Creek and Carefree.
Attendance will be limited with optional face masks. This event will also be lived streamed.
